Transfer files from iPhone to Windows over Wi-Fi
Your photos. Your PC. No cable in between.
Use Dropair’s web app to move a file from your iPhone to a Windows computer on the same local network. Open the website on the PC, scan its pairing QR code with your iPhone Camera, then select a file on the phone and send it to the PC. No Dropair app installation or account is needed.
Before you start
- Connect the iPhone and PC to the same trusted Wi-Fi. The PC can also use Ethernet on that local network.
- Use an up-to-date browser on each device. Internet access is needed to load Dropair and pair the devices.
- Keep the phone unlocked and both browser pages open during the transfer. Start with a small file to check your connection.
From iPhone to PC, step by step
Open Dropair on Windows
Visit dropair.online in your PC’s browser. Choose Pair a device to display your private QR code and pairing link.
Scan the code with your iPhone Camera
Open the iPhone’s Camera app, point it at the QR code on your computer, and tap the link that appears. This opens Dropair’s web app and joins the same private space. You do not need the native Dropair app to scan it.
If scanning is inconvenient, use Copy pairing link on the PC and open that complete link on the phone. Keep the link private.
Choose a photo or file on the phone
Tap Choose files. Use the iPhone’s picker to select an available photo, video or document. The choices shown depend on your browser and where the item is stored. Cloud-only items may need to download to the phone first.
The selected items appear in Dropair. Remove an item or choose Clear selection if you picked the wrong one.
Select the PC to send
Under Your devices, tap the connected computer. Selecting a file only prepares it; selecting the receiving device starts the send request.
Accept and save on Windows
Accept the incoming file on the PC. Wait until Dropair shows it as received, then choose Save. Use your browser’s downloads menu to find the exported file. For multiple files, approve each incoming request.
Common questions
Can I send from Windows back to my iPhone?
Yes—the sending steps reverse. Choose the file on Windows, select the phone, accept on the phone and use Save to export it. The final save location and available actions depend on your iPhone browser and file type.
Is this AirDrop for Windows?
Dropair provides its own browser-based transfer connection. It does not add Apple’s AirDrop protocol to Windows, and it is not affiliated with Apple or Microsoft.
Will a photo’s format change?
Dropair transfers the file supplied by your browser. The iPhone’s picker or photo provider can affect which representation it supplies. If you need a specific original file, select that file from Files and check the saved result.
Why is my PC missing from Your devices?
Both devices must join the same pairing space and be able to reach each other locally. A guest network, VPN or firewall can prevent the connection even if both devices have internet access. Follow the connection troubleshooting guide.
Can I use the installed iPhone app instead?
If you already have access to a development build, you can pair from its Pair device control. This guide uses the publicly available web app. The native iOS app is not yet available on the App Store.
Save a copy before clearing your browser
Received files remain in the receiving browser’s storage until you remove them or clear site data. Use Save to export important files. Available browser storage can limit a transfer; there is no guaranteed unlimited file size.
