Copy text from iPhone to Windows
Move a link, note or address to your other screen.
To send copied text from an iPhone to a Windows PC, open dropair.online on both devices and connect them. In Send text, paste your text, choose the receiving device and send. Press Copy text on the PC to put it on that computer’s clipboard. The same steps work in reverse.

Connect the phone and PC first
Use the same trusted local network. Open DropAir in an up-to-date browser on each device and keep both pages open. Internet access is needed to load the site and establish the connection.
Connect the recognised computer in Nearby devices. If it does not appear, choose Pair a device on the PC and scan its QR code with your iPhone Camera. Open the resulting link. Keep pairing links private.
A VPN on either device can prevent discovery or connection. Allow local-network access in the VPN settings, or pause it if safe. Guest Wi-Fi can also keep devices apart. Our connection guide covers these cases.
Send a copied link or note
Copy the text on your iPhone
For example, copy a website address from your browser or a paragraph from Notes. Return to the DropAir page.
Paste into Send text
Find Send text and tap Paste clipboard. If the browser asks, allow the paste. You can also touch and hold inside Text to send and choose Paste, or type directly into the box. Check the text before sending.
Choose your computer
Use the Send to selector to choose your connected Windows PC, then tap Send text. If it says Connect a device first, finish pairing and wait for the connection.
Copy the received text on Windows
In the receiving page’s Send text area, find the message from your phone and click Copy text. Paste into your document, address bar or other app using Ctrl+V.
To copy text from Windows to iPhone, reverse the devices: paste on the PC, select the iPhone, send, then press Copy text on the phone.
If paste or copy does not work
- Paste clipboard is blocked: paste directly into the text box using the iPhone’s Paste menu or Ctrl+V on Windows. A browser can deny clipboard access while still allowing manual paste.
- Copy text is blocked: select the received text and copy it using the browser or keyboard controls.
- No receiving device: check both pages are open and connected. Pairing and an active transfer connection are required.
- No receipt: check the other screen before sending again. Refresh both pages to load the current version, then reconnect.
- Text is too long: each message allows up to 8 KB. Emoji and some characters use more than one byte. For a long document, save it as a file and use file sharing.
Common questions
Is this automatic clipboard sync?
No. You choose what to paste and send, then copy it on the receiving device. DropAir does not continuously monitor or synchronise your clipboard.
Does this use Apple Universal Clipboard?
No. DropAir uses its own browser connection between the paired devices. It does not require Universal Clipboard or add an Apple protocol to Windows.
Can I send an image copied to the clipboard?
This text box sends text. To move a photo, screenshot, video or document, use Choose files instead. Desktop Chrome and Edge can save received files to a folder you select.
Will the text still be there tomorrow?
Received text is kept in the current session, not a permanent message history. Copy and save anything important before closing or refreshing the page.
Can this back up my iPhone?
No. Sending text and selected files is separate from photo-library backup. An iOS photo and video backup feature is being tested for v1.1; it is not available through this browser-only guide.
